New Release! Dragonscales Volume 1: Concord

Check out this gorgeous cover!

Once upon a time, I was an ordinary gamer. I drove to Gary Con every spring, Gamehole Con every fall, and Nexus Game Fair every summer. I went to the Gaming Hoopla spring and fall, where I met James M. Ward, former TSR employee and professional game designer.

I made a good impression on him, it seems, and we became friendly. I made a point of playing in his games at every convention and got to know him a little. I met his business partner Stephen Lee at Gary Con too, when they were starting to promote the Ward Card System and 77 Lost Worlds, the first game using that system.

Somehow, I summoned the courage to ask about submitting a short story when I heard they were putting together an anthology. Stephen welcomed my submission, then invited me to join them in the next.

Since then I’ve designed two adventures for them – one for 77 Lost Worlds, the other for Dragonscales RPG. It opened the door to writing for James M. Ward and Craig Martelle in their Metamorphosis Alpha short story anthologies, and then to partnering with Craig Martelle in our Mystically Engineered series about space-faring humans dealing with astral dragons in the far reaches of space.

And now Dragonscales RPG has released their first story anthology, set in the city of Concord. I can’t seem to get away from dragons , not that I want to! I wrote a fun story about a pair of fantasy detectives on a missing person’s case. I fell a little in love with the characters, which might be obvious, since I wrote a sequel story for the second anthology.

I hope you’ll check the book out. You can only get it from Amazon at present, but you can get it in ebook format or paperback. If you do, please leave a review, it helps so much!
