A Day In The Life.

As I write this, I’m sitting comfortably on my bed with the dog nearby, my eyes heavy and ready to seal themselves shut. It’s Saturday, one that has gone by lightning-quick, and has left me wondering what I’ve done with all my time.

At least today, I can answer that question. I walked the dog. I wrote an essay, scrapped half of it, then wrote it again. I wrote and watched a Youtube video, then had lunch with Doug before we played Marvel Champions. Then I played in my weekly OSE game, in which we play a game much like very old-school Dungeons and Dragons. It’s a deadly game, and none of us have the characters we started the game playing. I kinda love it.

After that, Doug and I finished our game by losing to Klaw. I insisted on a do-over, and then we won. I’m not sure I care for my deck, though (Black Widow / Justice). Next time I’m giving Ms. Marvel a spin.

Tonight I’ve been working on a short story about a witch. This will get turned into Mr. Smith tomorrow unless I finish it and then write something I like better before midnight tomorrow.

So that’s been my day. There were some bouts of adult responsibility in there, with cleaning and such, but they weren’t interesting enough to detail. Now I’m sleepy, and I face the same eleven o’clock choice I have every night… stop being “productive” and go to bed, or stop being “productive” and play video games. I think video games are going to win. I started playing Phoenix Wright the other night, and it’s surprisingly hard to put down. This might be a problem.

What I’m reading: Skinwalker, by Faith Hunter. I’m on the fence about this. I like the main character, the worldbuilding, and just about eveything about it. I’m just not sure the story and the genre do it for me.

What I’m watching: The Umbrella Academy, Season 2. Ah, the angst, the growth, the beauty… the struggle not to watch it all in one go. We’ve got three episodes to go.

We’re also watching What We Do In The Shadows, the television show. I love it dearly. I’m starting to think that Taika Watiti can do no wrong.

What I’m listening to: at the moment, a playlist of songs from UA Season 1.

Thanks for joining me for another ramble. Be well, stay safe, and take care.
