Shh… Spring Doesn’t Believe in Dragons

Don’t Look Her In The Eye

Spring hasn’t had her coffee yet. She requires absolute silence and zero eye contact until she’s ready to face the day. The moment we acknowledge her, she will scurry back to her hiding place, leaving big brother Winter to put us in our place.

Still, I’m happy about having longer days and mostly warmer weather. It’s easier to get up in the morning and get things done. I’ve left the winter blues behind and am looking forward to a beautiful Spring… once she gets here. Once she’s had her coffee. (Shhhhh)

Shiva doesn’t care what season it is as long as his food dish is full.

While we wait, here is the state of the union here in Wisconsin, or at least in my little patch of it:

Dragon Redemption, Book 3 of the Mystically Engineered series I wrote with Craig Martelle, has been turned in for editing and beta reading. I hope to have a drop date soon.

I have a Facebook Author page! I’m hoping this will help me reach more readers.

Current Projects

I’m happy to say that I have another short story in the works for the Dragonscales world. They’re putting together anthology and since I’m the Dragon Whisperer, Stephen Lee asked me to write a story about a dragon. The story of Salistyn the Dragon and her scheming ways is under way, and I’m really excited for it.

While I work on this story, I’m blocking out an adventure for Umerica! The Hunger of Slawter Swamp is a post-apocalyptic adventure, sure to whet players’ appetites for more post-apocalyptic mayhem. They’re running a Kickstarter right now, and if all goes well, my adventure will be one of the stretch goals. I’m told that the adventure will be published no matter what, but it would be nice to be part of this Kickstarter!

I’m also knocking out a few things for the Xcrawl Classics game. I may have mentioned this before, but the 0 level adventure in this core book will be the one I wrote, Xcrawl’s Got Talent! I’m also contributing spells, a patron, and even a monster or two. I’m particularly proud of the work I’ve done here, and I can’t wait to see it all in print.

Around the Corner

I was happy to get a break from novel writing, but I have plans for the next project already. Years ago, I wrote an urban fantasy novel under a pen name. The intention was to make it a trilogy, but life happened (as it so often does). Recently I pulled it off the shelf and realized that while it’s decent, it could use another draft… and a couple more books to go with it. It’s a fantasy story set in a small Wisconsin college town, about a young woman who gets turned into a troll by a curse and her quest to get changed back.

So I have a to-do list for this – revise the story, get a better cover, and write the sequels. All this will come out under my own name, since it doesn’t make sense to me to spread my social media time over two names when I could just focus on the one. I’m planning on three stories now, but if they go well, I could keep on writing these stories for as long as people want to read them.

That’s all I’ve got for today. I hope everyone is enjoying the nice “current season” weather and has a lovely weekend.
